It is so much fun going shopping at home decor consignment shops. I just love seeing the hodge podge of furniture, accessories, artwork and lighting that others have lovingly decided to move on from and given to the world of consignment so that we might define a new purpose for them in our lives & homes. Today, I spent the day with my mom visiting several of these quaint shops in the Southend area (which I love) of Charlotte. The Charlotte light rail runs right through this historic part of town making this a completely wonderful place for leisurely exploration. These are some of the places we visited. Cottage Chic, although not consignment, is such a beautiful shop with soaps, bedding, unique children's gifts, jewelry, furniture & accessories. We had lunch at Reid's Fine Foods (located on Selwyn & Colony), which is an award winning butcher & wine shop and a Charlotte landmark, having been in business since 1928. They have a great selection of specialty foods, amazing meats, sandwiches & salads. Such a great place to stop for a bite to eat and sample some goodies too. For a retail furniture fix...of course we had to visit West Elm in midtown and then finished our day grabbing up some goodies at Trader Joe's. Was a great day...not to mention the weather was an amazing 63 degrees!
