Nursery is complete...and baby girl Zoe Abrielle arrived on November 14th!

The nursery is complete!

We purchased an inepensive white slipcover chair from Ikea and for a splash of color & back support, I added a pillow repurposed from the guest bedroom.  The final touch for the curtains were the tiebacks, which will be useful when baby girl is sleeping, we can draw the curtains closed for light control.  Above the crib, I created wall artwork out of the leftover fabric from the curtains.  Baby girl's monogram was added to the center of the wall accent.  For books, we added wall ledges (from Ikea) to the right of the curtains. To the left of the curtains is the chest we refinished, with photos of her at 1 week old, hanging above and these adorable letter prints with her name meanings, which I found on Etsy (no longer available) .

I found a lovely crib mobile on Etsy, but didn't want to pay the high price, so my Etsy find gave me the idea to create one on my own.  I found a branch on one of our evening dog walks around the neighborhood and painted it white.  Next, I picked up a butterfly paper punch from Michaels to create the butterflies.  Then I used a sewing needle to thread white string through each butterfly and then tied each strand to the tree branch in different spots.  We used brass (which I painted white) ceiling hooks to hang it.  Zane really likes it.  When the ceiling fan is on, the butterflies move around and look like they are flying...so we hope baby girl will be entertained by the flying butterflies above her.
